Meet the Pastor

Pastor Wayne Wilson has been serving Acton Faith Bible Church since 1990. Raised in Indiana, Wayne came to California after High School to study film production in the "film capital of the world". While in film school, Wayne was invited to attend church with some fellow students. After putting off these invitations for a time, he finally went to Grace Community Church in the San Fernando Valley; known for its careful, systematic teaching of the Bible. As Wayne puts it, "I was thrilled that I could understand the Bible for the first time in my life." He immersed himself in the Scriptures, and soon after, in 1978, with a full realization of his own sinfulness and need of a savior, Wayne put his faith in Jesus Christ.

Within the next year, Wayne's desires changed. No longer concerned with being the next John Ford, Wayne felt God's call to pursue full time ministry. He finished up his associate degree and spent a year at Grace Community's Logos Bible Institute. He got involved in ministry at Juvenile Detention facilities and in home Bible studies. Wayne went to Los Angeles Baptist College (now the Master's College) and earned a B.A. in history. There he met Laura, and married her in 1982 - the same day he graduated from college.

After that it was seminary. Wayne completed most of his post-graduate work at Talbot Theological Seminary, then finished up with a Master of Divinity degree at The Master's Seminary. Wayne was in the first graduating class at Master's. During these school years, Wayne served as an Elder and an adult class teacher at Sunland Neighborhood Church in Sunland, CA. Then in 1990 he accepted the call to Acton Faith Bible Church.

Pastor Wayne and his family live in Acton. They love being a part of this community, and especially the people here. The Wilsons look forward to many years of ministry in Acton.
