Creation Thought – Part 7

Creation Thought – Part 7

In the last three issues of the Pony Express, we have looked at three things that evolutionists often cite as evidence for their belief and discussed why these are not  valid proofs of evolution.  Now let’s look at some specific scientific evidences for creation.

First, we will consider the fossil record.  Millions of fossils of many different kinds have been discovered all over the world.  A fossil is a “trace of a plant or animal preserved in rock” (usually).  For example, a bone, a shell, a leaf imprint or footprint, or an insect sealed in amber (tree sap).  Many of these fossils have been closely examined and organized into groups based on the part of the world in which they were found, what species of organism it represents, and in which layer of rock they are found.

If evolution is true, the fossil record should show a continuous development from the earliest one celled organisms all the way to humans.  What it really shows, however, is gaps!  For example, there should be many “transitional forms” in the fossil record that show the change from, say, reptiles to birds.  In fact, there are none.  The same is true concerning all the different kinds of plants and animals that exist.  Such gaps are totally contrary to the concept of evolution and cannot be explained away.
